IT HAS been a busy month for Meifod based COBRA Rugby Club.
Powys' leading women's rugby team stormed to a 47-7 win over Gwernyfed in the first round of the Welsh Cup with Libby Jones and Jaya Whittingham sharing the plaudits.
Last weekend saw the club take on Admiral Welsh Premiership leaders Llandaff North.

Despite a battling display the Powys side fell to a 24-10 defeat with Grace Manford's try converted by Whittingham who also kicked a penalty with Cat Jones and Pippa Luckhurst voted players of the match.
Meanwhile several graduates of Newtown Rugby Club have also begun new stages in their careers.
Georgia Powell represented Liverpool University at scrum-half against Nottingham Veterans last weekend while Sarah Parry began at outside centre for Worcester Warriors against Sale Sharks in the Premier 15s.
