A motorcyclist was rescued by emergency teams after a crash on the A483 yesterday.

Emergency Services were called to a crash near Llanbister on Wednesday, April 25, which saw the road being closed in both directions.

The crash saw the rider needing to be rescued by fire crews at the scene after they came off the bike and ended up on the roadside.

Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service confirmed that a crew from Llandrindod Wells was in attendance.

The crew had to use line rescue equipment to retrieve the rider and get them to medical crews at the scene.

They confirmed that the rider was later taken away by ambulance, but their current condition is unclear.

A spokesperson for Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service said: “At 3.47pm on Wednesday, April 24, the Llandrindod Wells crew was called to an incident along the A483 near Llanbadarn Fynydd.

“Crew members responded to a road traffic collision involving one motorcycle. 

“The motorcycle’s rider was extricated from the roadside into an ambulance.  Crew members utilised one triple-extension ladder and line rescue equipment.

“The crew left the scene at 4.41pm.”
