Organisers of the Welshpool 10k have confirmed that the event will be returning for 2025.

Anyone hoping to take part in the Welshpool 10k now has a year to prepare as organisers have set a date for the 2025 race through the Powys town.

Adrenaline Sporting Events, organisers of the annual running event, confirmed that the 2025 Welshpool 10k is scheduled to take place on March 23.

The announcement comes just weeks after a successful 2024 race that saw over 600 runners start from the streets of Welshpool, run through the grounds of Powis Castle and cross the finish line on Broad Street.

The 2024 event was the third time the race was held in Welshpool, following a lengthy road to their debut event in 2022 after being delayed numerous times as a result of the Covid-19 Pandemic.

In its third year, organiser Alan Lewis felt that the race was going from strength to strength.

Speaking the day after the event, he said: “I’m thrilled to bits with how the 2024 event went. It was an absolutely mega day.

“The weather this year was excellent, clear skies with a gentle breeze, which was absolutely perfect for running.

“The better weather also meant we had more people turning out in the crowd, with more people to cheer the runners on.

"It the community out in full force to support the 10k, which made the race even better than it was in 2022 and 2023. We’re just overwhelmed.

“We also had great feedback from runners, including one review that told us he’d been running races like this since 2011 and told us this was one of his favourites, as well as that he’d be coming back year. It’s just fantastic to hear.”
