A shooting ground in Powys has reopened - and now offers an archery range - after a month long closure to carry out maintenance and expansion.

Dovey Valley Shooting Ground, located in Llanwrin, just outside of Machynlleth was due to hold its grand re-opening on Friday, March 1, welcoming regular visitors and potential first timers back to the grounds for the first time in over a month.

The shooting ground temporarily closed on January 31, while the team carried out some maintenance at the ground and prepared for the year ahead, with some new stands and new targets installed and an onsite licensed café.

The business was founded over 60 years ago and is currently owned by the original founder’s grandson, Richard Jones, who took ownership in 2019.
