TNS boss Scott Ruscoe says the likes of Dean Ebbe are the template for the signings he hopes to make before the next European campaign.

The Irish striker has just signed a one-year extension to his six-month deal and will hope to get more minutes under his belt alongside fellow January signing Kevin Kauber.

Ruscoe insisted both had strengthened the TNS squad and more new blood would be introduced ahead of the European campaign.

TNS will bid to end the J D Welsh Premier season on a high and travel to Bala Town tonight (Friday) with the title long won.

However European success has continued to elude the Oswestry club with Ruscoe hopeful next season will see an improved run.

“Kevin is with us until next summer and Dean Ebbe has now signed a contract until next summer too,” said Ruscoe.

“Dean has earned the extension because of his performances. He’s got five goals already, he’s hungry and he’s only 23.

“He’s the type of the player we’ll be looking for when the window opens again, because of his age, his style of play, his technical ability and because he’s a team player.

“We want to give the younger boys some minutes as well, plus a longer look at Kevin at Bala on Friday. We’re ready for the game. It’s not nice to not be playing.”

Ruscoe started his Pro-Licence course in South Wales this week as part of the club’s successful domestic and UEFA licensing critera.

“I’m looking forward to spending time with other coaches and see what I can bring back,” said Ruscoe.
