MORE than 150 players representing 19 teams took part in the Evabuild and Mid Wales Housing sponsored We Wear the Same Shirt football tournament in Newtown last month.
The five a side festival was organised by Newtown community coach Sam Morris with the aim of raising awareness of mental health and social inclusion.
Former Wales star Neville Southall attended the event in his role as Welsh Mental Health FA Ambassador
Sides from Wrexham, Shrewsbury and Port Talbot joined entries from Newtown and Welshpool in a superb event.
Soccerholics won the Super Cup after beating Welshpool in the final while Misfits 1 claimed the Champions League title with the Europa League won by Wrexham Titans.
Morris said: “It was an unbelievable tournament with great football and team spirit and hopefully helped tackle the stigma of mental health. Well done to all involved.
A big to all the sponsors, EvaBuild, Mid Wales Housing, Sport Powys, Morrisons, FAWT, NPTC Newtown, Activ8Kids, St Johns Ambulance and the Mental Health FA.
