Welsh golfers reached the final of the US Amateur Four-Ball in one of the standout performances in USGA events.
Among them was Llanfair Caereinion's Tomi Bowen, 23, who alongside partner Jonathan Bale, finished runners-up at Desert Mountain Golf Club in Arizona, losing out to former professionals Grady Brame and Lawrence Allan.
The final saw the American and Scottish duo go six under par over the closing six holes to secure the title.
Both Bale and Bowen were eligible for the event as they were ranked inside the world’s top 400 amateurs at the time of entry.

The two first met while representing Wales in the 2025 World Amateur Team Championship in Malaysia, and have also competed together in European Team Championships and Home Internationals.
Bowen is hoping the performance will strengthen his chances of making the Great Britain and Ireland Walker Cup team later this summer.
Bowen said: "I mean, the results state their own case.
"I've just got to go out the next two months, just perform and that will do any talking."
Bale invited Bowen to partner with him for the event.
The pair progressed from a field of 256 players to reach the match play stages, finishing 33 under par en route to the final.
They edged their semi-final opponents on the 18th hole, but fell short in the championship match later that afternoon.
As runners-up, the Welsh duo earned silver medals and exemptions into the next three US Amateur Four-Ball Championships.
However, Bowen is considering turning professional later this year, which would mean forfeiting those exemptions.
Gareth Jenkins, pathway and high performance director at Wales Golf, praised the players’ achievement.
Jenkins said: "The guys did incredibly well.
"This was an excellent performance within a top class field in the US.
"Congratulations to both players which will no doubt boost their confidence for the rest of the season ahead."
The Walker Cup is scheduled to take place at Lahinch Golf Club on Ireland’s west coast from September 5 to 6, 2026.
Team selection is expected to be announced in mid-August.
