THE end of the football season is looming on the horizon as players and young and old look to end the term on a high.
The Mid and North Powys Junior Football League has embarked on its traditional end of season festivals with hundreds of players from clubs across the region taking part.
An under 9/8s festival was held in Llanidloes last weekend which saw youngsters enjoy a fine afternoon of fun and football.

Sides from Newtown, Welshpool Town, Caersws, Llanfair United, Rhayader Town, Llanidloes Town, Llanfyllin Town, Berriew and Dyffryn Banw ensured the event was competitive and contested in a fine spirit.
League spokesman Craig Griffiths said: "It was a fantastic event and thanks to all clubs, coaches, players and parents for supporting the festival, just as they have done so throughout the season.

"It has been another fine season for the league and its players, many of who will be stepping up an age grade next season while some will also be stepping up into senior football.
"The Mid and North Powys aims to provide an environment for youngsters to enjoy football and benefits of physical activity.
"We encourage any new sides to make contact ahead of next season should they wish to enter a team at any level."
