RADNOR Valley have snapped up midfielder Jack Clarke.

The 20 year old lands at the Bypass after impressing for MMP Central Wales League South side Rhayader Town this season.

Clarke’s arrival follows hot on the heels of forward Liam Jones’ return from Hellenic League side Hereford Pegasus as the Goats strive to end their debut season in the Ardal North East League on a high.

Valley have enjoyed a fine campaign and currently sit in second place on 39 points and leading the pursuit of leaders Penrhyncoch who lead by eight points with a game in hand on the Radnorshire side.

A club spokesman said: “We are really pleased to get them on board to finish the season as strong as possible with him and Liam signing.

“We’ve had a close eye on Jack since we had a few games for us in pre-season. 

“We recently played Rhayader in the Radnorshire Cup in which he shone for them so we were eager to get him signed on with limited games remaining for Rhayader. 

“At 20 years of age has bags of potential and can’t wait to see him in action.”

Meanwhile Radnor will look to dust themselves off after last week’s defeat at Llanuwchllyn realistically ended their hopes of catching leaders Penrhyncoch who now look certain to seal a return to JD Cymru North as their rivals each continue to falter.

However the Goats remain determined to end the season well with a top for place the target.

The club spokesman added: “The league has drifted a bit but if we can get top four it will be a massive bonus. Everyone at the club has been so pleased happy with how we’ve coped in the league and it has just our depth in the squad in key matches.”
