LLANIDLOES Town's JD Cymru North survival hopes have been dealt a major blow after forward Jamie Breese departed Victoria Avenue.

Breese has completed the switch to JD Cymru North title contenders Holywell Town with the Deeside club confirming the transfer via social media.

Breese said: "Very much looking forward to the new challenge ahead."

The 31 year old ex-Newtown academy player rose to prominence during his first spell at Victoria Avenue from 2012 to 2015 when he earned a switch to Caernarfon Town.

Breese became a terrace hero at Caernarfon before returning to Newtown in 2020 but an unsuccessful spell at Latham Park ended with a return to Llanidloes in the summer of 2022.

The Daffodils have endured a turbulent campaign which has seen David Jarman and Lawrence Wilson depart after brief spells at the helm with ex-Aberystwyth Town striker Andy Evans now at the helm.

A Llanidloes Town Football Club spokesman said: "We are obviously really disappointed to lose him but we do wish him all the best for the future."
