GUILSFIELD will host JD Cymru Premier champions TNS in the semi-finals of this season's Nathaniel MG Cup.

The draw was made on Tuesday night and pits the Guils against the Saints while either Cardiff Met or troubled Pontypridd United will travel to Swansea City under 23s.

Guilsfield manager Nathan Leonard was savouring the clash which he dubbed the "biggest in the club's history."

Guilsfield have beaten Caersws, Newtown, Bala Town and Prestatyn Town on their way to their first ever national semi-final which will take place on Wednesday, January 3rd, 2024.

The Saints will start as massive favourites with the Guils bidding to cause another cup upset.

He said: "It’s a huge local game and hopefully they’ll be plenty of people supporting us from Oswestry and mid Wales. We have several players connected to the town so it should be a great occasion for the players and more importantly the club."

Leonard admitted the JD Cymru North side would go into the tie as massive underdogs.

County Times:

"It is almost mission impossible these days against TNS who have strengthened again this season and whatever team they put out will hurt most teams," he said.

"We will do everything we can to make it uncomfortable for them on the night but there’s no pressure on us and I just hope the lads can enjoy the occasion as it’s the first time in the clubs history we’ve reached the last four of a national competition.

"It’s the biggest game in the clubs history and as long as we give our all then I’ll be happy."
