RADNOR Valley marked the start of the Ardal North East League season with a 2-2 draw at home to Llanuwchllyn on Saturday.

The Goats endured a nightmare first-half with Paul Jones and Mike Pritchard goals either side of a missed penalty from Joey Price for the hosts.

Price atoned with a 65th minute penalty before Lewis Morris struck a last gasp leveller to rescue an opening day point.

Dolgellau AA opened their campaign with a 4-2 defeat at home to title favourites Cefn Albion.

Callum Mannion struck twice before Alex Williams added a third with Gerwyn Williams reducing the arrears for the hosts.

Ryan Kehoe settled the outcome with the Wrexham side's fourth with 20 minutes remaining before Sion Hughes struck a consolation.

Llanfair United ended second best in an entertaining 4-2 opening day defeat at Llangollen Town.

Goals from Ben Wilson and James Samuels gave the hosts the lead before United hit back to level with goals from player-manager Karl Seliaerts and Matt Spencer.

However Llangollen sealed the spoils with Kristian Jones restoring their advantage before Jack Goulbourn settled the outcome.

Bow Street opened the season with a comfortable 4-1 win at 10 man Llanrhaeadr.

Rhydian Davies led the scoring with two goals while Rhys Hughes and Gwion Ap Dafydd completed the scoring while Lewis Davies reduced the arrears with Will France also seeing red for the hosts.

Further goals from Khyam Wyton, Liam Pickstock and Oscar Herd completed a dream league debut for the Saints.

Builth Wells tasted a 2-1 opening day defeat at Rhos Aelwyd with Joe Wozencraft's late strike a consolation after Ryan Powell's own goal and James Rumsey's strike for the hosts.

Brecon Corries tasted a 3-2 opening day defeat at home to Caldicot Town in the Ardal South East League.

Jackson Dean struck twice and Joe Slack was also on target as the Gwent side raced ahead before a Dale Evans double reduced the arrears with the visitors ending with 10 men following the dismissal of George Holland.

Hay St Mary's also endured a tough start to life in the third tier with a 4-1 defeat at Chepstow Town.

Mallachi Graham, Joshua Parsons, Finnan Maguire-Hamblett and Marcus Forrest goals sealed the spoils for the hosts with Brendan Hackett netting a consolation.
