CAERSWS Football Club have completed one of the signings of the summer after completing the capture of ex-Newtown defender Craig Williams.

The 35 year old confirmed his departure by from Latham Park by mutual consent on Friday night with the Bluebirds winning the race for the defender's signature.

Williams joins the newly promoted Ardal North East League champions alongside fellow Newtown player Rhys Hesden who both join ahead of the Bluebirds' return to JD Cymru North.

    Williams came through the Robins' youth system, making is debut as a young 16 year old captained the club in three European campaigns on his way to becoming the club's record appearance holder.

    Williams will continue as head of coaching at Newtown Football Club academy.

    Meanwhile 20 year old forward Hesden arrives at the Recreation Ground having spent half of last season on loan at JD Cymru North side Llanidloes Town.
