LLANIDLOES Town Football Club will compete in a 17 club JD Cymru North next season.

The Powys club faced the prospect of being forced to switch to the southern league after two northern clubs weer relegated from the JD Cymru Premier last season.

However Football Association of Wales (FAW) officials gave the club the green light to continue in the northern half of the pyramid on Tuesday night.

A club spokesman said: "The FAW and National League board took on board our concerns and kept us in the north. Thank you to all the officials who have asked our opinions and to all who were in the meetings today, it was a difficult one but hopefully everyone is happy."
