CAERSWS Football Club have assured supporters of plans to appeal after their tier two licence bid was rejected by the Football Association of Wales.

The Ardal North East League champions were among 63 applicants for the Tier 2 Certification and clubs were assessed against a number of infrastructure and personnel criteria.

Gresford Athletic was the only current JD Cymru North club to be rejected while Caersws, Cefn Albion and Flint Mountain were rejected from tier three.

OTHER NEWS:

Bangor 1876, Brickfield Rangers, Y Rhyl 1879 and Denbigh Town all attained a license at the first attempt.

Corwen, Llanfair United, Llanuwchllyn, Llay Miners Welfare and Nantlle Vale withdrew their applications.

All clubs have a right of appeal against these decisions and must be submitted within 10 days.

Caersws Football Club confirmed an appeal would be made.

A statement read: "Caersws Football Club note the decision made by the First Instance Body and have been informed of the one reason leading to the Tier 2 licence refusal.

"While disappointed that assurances had been given that all was in order we are confident this minor issue will be resolved through the appeals process."
