THE Central Wales Football Association held an U6-U10 Girls Turn up and Play Fun Festival on Sunday together with an U12, U14 and U16 Girls Inter League Tournament at Blaendolau, Aberystwyth.
With more than 200 girls participating, including representative teams from the various junior leagues throughout Central Wales – South Ceredigion, Powys and Aberystwyth – tournament organiser Paul Inns declared the event a success.
He said: "It was fantastic to see so many girls attend and have fun playing against other girls from throughout the Central Wales area.

"The standard of football throughout the day was excellent and congratulations to Aberystwyth/South Ceredgion who won the U16 Girls Tournament as well as South Ceredigion who edged one of the two Powys teams by a single goal difference in a very competitive U14 tournament.
