WELSHPOOL maintained their fine start to the North Wales Women’s League season with a convincing 6-0 win at Caernarfon.
A strong team travelled and five goals came from some great penalty corners.
Sarah Thomas proved the star with a hat-trick while Sonja Evans struck twice and Bethan Wyn Williams. completed the tally.
A club spokesman said: “A great start to the league with another three points on the board.”
Newtown also celebrated three points with a 3-0 win at home to Bala.
Heidi Langford led the scoring with two goals while Sian Griffiths completed the scoring.
Meanwhile old rivals Kington and Presteigne shared the spoils in a 2-2 draw in the South Wales Women’s Premier League.
Jess Goodwin opened the scoring for the Welsh club only for Rachel Smith to level
Frankie Jone restored the lead but Kington were not to be denied and hit back with a goal from Rachel Venables after good work from Sinny Price.
