LLANIDLOES edged a slender 10-8 victory over Welshpool in the WRU Bowl.

An evenly-contested clash at Cae Hafren saw the home side prevail with a try from Richard Pryce proving crucial.

Mason Jones added the extras and kicked a penalty as the home side toasted victory while Pool remained in contention throughout with a try from Dylan Walton and penalty from Tom Williams.

The result ensured Llanidloes their first win of the group format competition while denting Pool’s hopes of catching up with group pacesetters Newtown and Machynlleth.
