DREAMS of a clean sweep of domestic honours ended for TNS as their second string slipped to a 2-1 defeat in the second round of the Nathaniel MG Cup this afternoon.

The Oswestry side, with one eye firmly on next week's UEFA Conference second-leg clash in Czechia, sent a youthful squad to Cae Baker.

The JD Cymru North side capitalised and established a two goal lead with Taylor Watts breaking the deadlock with a first-half injury-time penalty before Ifan Burrel doubled the tally after the break.

The Saints reduced the arrears through Beau Cornish but could not find a route back into the tie despite the home side seeing Garmon Nutting dismissed late on.

Elsewhere summer signing Aaron Williams showcased what Newtown fans can expect this season with all four goals in the Robins' 4-2 win at Cambrian and Clydach Vale.

The former AFC Telford striker's haul included a brace of penalties while Sam Jones netted twice in reply for the Tonypandy hosts who ended with 10 men following the late dismissal of Kyle Jones.

Elsewhere Tywyn Bryncrug caused a shock with goals from Nick Williams, Aston Heath and Iwan Richards settling a 3-0 win at Bow Street whose miserable day was compounded with the dismissal of Steffan Richards.

Morris gave the Goats the lead only for Greg Preece to level with Valley restoring their lead through Geraint Lloyd before Aeron Powell equalised on half-time.

The second-half proved just as tight before Morris struck the winner with 15 minutes remaining.

The ties between Caersws and Llansantffraid and the scheduled meeting between Four Crosses and Welshpool Town were both cancelled.
