THE first qualifying round of the JD Welsh Cup was contested this weekend.

Unfortunately a rise in coronavirus cases in the region led to Abermule conceding their home tie against Four Crosses while Radnor Valley were also forced to concede their home tie against Presteigne due to players being in isolation.

However the remainder of the ties involving mid Wales clubs went ahead as planned, marking a return of competition for the first time in 16 months.
