CLUBS from across the region will get their first taste of competitive football in 16 months on Saturday.

The first qualifying round of the JD Welsh Cup has been regionalised and ensured a host of derbies.

Abermule v Four Crosses

Father and son management team Gwyn and Dan Hamer will be at the helm of Abermule for the visit of Four Crosses who have undergone a transitional summer with John Reid now at the helm following the departure of Mike Barton to Morda United.

Reid has also brought Ben Pullen, Will Howard, Jordan Dean and Brandon Rogers from his former club, Trefonen.

Dolgellau AA v Machynlleth FC

Manager Owain Williams leads his side into the Welsh Cup following his elevation from assistant in the summer.

Former Llandudno, Porthmadog, Bala Town and Aberystwyth Town star Rob Evans heads a cast of new signnings.

Veteran defender Johnno Harrison also joined Barmouth while defender Joey Jones has also arrived at Cae Marian.

Manager Gareth Jenkins has returned to the club from Presteigne and assembled a strong squad.

Matt Meredith and Callum Maddy join from Newbridge while Liam Pike, Adi Lawford, Adam Finn and Will Goodwin have arrived from Presteigne.

Liam McAnally and Matty Tong both arrive from Llandrindod Wells while Jack Cook and Charley Howarth join from Talgarth Town.

Jack Biggs has returned from Llanidloes and Phil Davies has made the move from Brecon Corries.

Knighton Town have signed goalkeeper Regan Tonkinson from Ludlow and Jack Dwyer from Albrighton.

Rhayader Town v Builth Wells

GARETH Hughes has bolstered Rhayader Town's ranks with the arrival of James Thomson.

The former East Fife defender is joined at the Weirglodd by goalkeeper James Barker and teenager Gavin Rowlands

Jason Samuel's Bulls are strengthened by Ollie Woods, Aeron Powell and Finn Duncan-McKane who arrive from Newbridge, Ryan Powell who joins from Llandrindod Wells and Ciaran Price from Pontardawe.

Tregaron Turfs v Penparcau

Manager Malcolm Davies will blood youngsters following their elevation from the junior ranks

Chris Wilkins has left for Penparcau while Cledan Davies has joined Penrhyncoch.

Arky will be managed by Mark Gornall and Andy Evans with Tommy Morgan the club coach.
