Wales is set to come to a standstill this afternoon when Cymru take on Denmark in the last 16 of Euro 2020. Rob Page's team are looking to make it back-to-back quarter final appearances after memorably reaching the semi-finals in 2016, here's what you need to know ahead of this afternoon's clash.

Where and when can I watch the game?

Kick off is at 5pm, and the game is being shown live on S4C or BBC1, depending on your preference for commentary. If you're on the move, the game is also live on BBC Radio 5 live, BBC Radio Wales and BBC Radio Cymru.

Who's likely to get through?

It looks like a tough one on paper for Cymru. Denmark have won the last two games between the two nations, beating Wales twice in the UEFA Nations League in autumn 2018. But the Danes haven't started the tournament brilliantly and only scraped through the group phase after losing their first two fixtures, the first team ever to do so.

Wales boss Rob Page is confident - he says he has a good deal of respect for the Danes, but his team are more than capable of pulling off a result and going through to the quarter finals. You can read more of that here.

So after we win, who's next?

Steady now. Should Wales come through this one, they will take on the Netherlands or the Czech Republic in the quarter-finals in Baku on July 3.

Cheats guide to Wales vs Denmark:

  • Denmark have won six out of the previous 10 meetings between the two sides, with Wales winning four.
  • Wales haven't suffered back-to-back defeats in competitive fixtures for two years.
  • Denmark booked their place in the last 16 with a 4-1 win over Russia, having lost their first two games of the tournament.
  • Wales are without defender Ethan Ampadu who is serving a one game suspension after his sending off against Italy, but otherwise are at full strength.
  • Denmark are without Christian Eriksen, who suffered a heart attack during their opening group game against Finland, but have no new fitness issues and look likely to stick with the back-three system which proved effective against Russia.
