CHRIS Hughes, has signed a new two year contract to remain at the helm of Newtown Football Club.

The news comes just weeks ahead of the club's UEFA Conference League debut and provides the Robins with a boost ahead of the new JD Cymru Premier season.

Director of Football, Kevin Speake said: “I am delighted to announce the signing of manager, Chris Hughes, on a new two-year contract.

“It was imperative that we secured Chris’ services for the longer term. In my opinion, he and his team have overachieved in recent years, including winning the play-offs to secure European football for the club.

“I am really looking forward to working with Chris moving forward.

"Making him my first signing was really important to me, and I am confident the club is now well positioned to move forward on the next step of our journey.”

The Robins have also unveiled their first new signing of the summer.

Welsh futsal and C international Naim Arsan has joined the club from Cefn Druids with the 27-year-old ex-TNS youngster arriving at the club following seven years at Cefn Druids.
