A three-county cycling race will be heading through Welshpool this month - after organisers got the go ahead to continue.

Now in it's sixth year, the Oswestry Midnight Ride takes place on June 19 and starts in Oswestry, before covering 70 miles of roads between Powys and North Shropshire.

Organisers Adrenaline Sporting Events say this year’s ride will head through Welshpool for sunset and have a castle theme, departing Oswestry at 6.30pm and reaching Chirk Castle first.

After a lap of the estate riders will then head up the Ceriog Valley and over towards the Powys border. The midway food and drinks stop is at Powis Castle, with most riders expected to arrive for sunset.

Only a few places are still available so riders are encouraged to book their places as soon as possible.
