BUILTH Wells Football Club hopes to be competing in the third division next season.

The club attained a tier three licence this week and hope to make the step up to the new Ardal League.

However the club also accepts it could well be in MMP-NL Mid Wales League East next season.

Joint-manager Stuart Turpin insisted the Bulls were just happy to be back on the verge of playing again after 14 months hiatus.

Turpin said: "We are really pleased to achieve tier three status. It's great for the club we’ve been awarded this. We’re very ambitious going forward, we want to develop our facilities even further and we will continue to strive to do that.

"We still don’t know as yet whether we’re going to be playing in tier three or four.

"If we’re playing tier four we’ve just got to get on with it and aim to be as successful as we can, both off and on the pitch. We relish the challenge of getting into the higher tiers.

It’s going to be a strange season after a year off, it’s all about building momentum for us now and moving on from the pandemic.

"We’re just looking forward to getting back on the pitch and wish all the teams in both tiers the best of luck for the season ahead."

The club returns to training on Saturday at the Lant Field from 11am-1pm.
