Barry Town United 0

TNS 6

TNS laid down a marker for the title with an emphatic victory at Barry Town United.

The home side were dealt a blow when goalkeeper Mike Lewis was forced to make way for Lee Idzi after 12 minutes.

The veteran goalkeeper endured a torrid night which began with Ryan Brobbel steering home Chris Marriott's cross after 26 minutes.

Barry almost mustered an instant response only for Kayne McLaggon to fire wide.

Six minutes Ben Clark crossed for Adam Roscrow as the ex-Wimbledon striker doubled the visitors lead.

It was all over five minutes later with Brobbel completing a sweeping counter attack which he had begun deep in his own half before slotting past Idzi.

The pressure continued after the break with Marriott firing just over before Brobbel completed his hat-trick just three minutes after the re-start by firing home a cross from Jon Routledge.

On 52 minutes Blaine Hudson headed Marriott's corner towards the back post for Ryan Astles to head home as the Saints celebrated a fifth.

The Saints added a sixth on the hour with Brobbel completing a remarkable evening with his fourth of the match following another lightning counter.

Hudson headed against the woodwork before Evan Press was forced to head Adrian Cieslewicz' shot over his own bar as TNS maintained their dominance.

TNS made a host of changes and the flow of the match was disrupted to offer some respite to the ragged hosts.

Leo Smith came closest to adding a seventh late on but Idzi denied the Saints substitute before the veteran No1 denied Tom Holland after good work by Greg Draper.
