ABERYSTWYTH Town maintained their mid season revival with a hard earned point at home to Penybont.

An even opening at Park Avenue saw Louis Bradford denied in a goalmouth scramble after 20 minutes and three minutes later Lewis Clutton tested home goalkeeper Connor Roberts at the other end.

Chances continued to hard fought with Jamie Reed latching onto Mathew Jones' throughball only to be denied by home goalkeeper Ashley Morris.

The home side led on 33 minutes with the inform Harry Franklin once again on target.

Penybont dominated the remainder of the half with Mael Davies firing over before Kane Owen blasted a free-kick over the bar and Sam Snaith saw an effort ruled offside.

Having survived the pressure the home side looked to build on their lead after the break and almost doubled their lead on the hour when Mathew Jones' corner found Lee Jenkins whose struck the post as Penybont survived.

Two minutes later and the visitors were back on terms with Mael Davies levelling from close range.

Both sides had chances in the final half hour with Harling denied by Roberts while Jenkins' header was tipped over the bar by Morris at the other end.

With 20 minutes remaining Jack Thorn also fired wide for the Seasiders.

Mason Jones-Thomas forced Roberts into the save of the match with six minutes remaining with the on-loan goalkeeper tipping his shot onto the bar.

Substitute Jonny Evans almost snatched victory for the hosts only for his lofted effort to be saved by Morris with two minutes remaining.

The Seasiders ended the afternoon with 10 men with Gwion Owen earning a second yellow card deep into injury time as the match ended all square at Park Avenue.
