WHO does not love a mystery?
The County Times is calling upon its readers to help provide details of a series of football clubs from the past.
All we have are the pictures with no names of the clubs, the players or the year which the photograph was taken.
However each provide a snapshot in time and the fashions and kits hint at the decades they may have been taken.
Read on and have a look at the team pictures. Perhaps you recognise yourself or a family member? Get in touch and let us know more about the team that season. Perhaps it was a silverware winning season or one which ended in relegation.
Email gavin.grosvenor@newsquest.co.uk with any details or perhaps you may wish to share a photograph from the past.
Black and white stripes or black and white photograph?
Kit colours are known to change from time to time but black and white stripes have been worn by Llanfyllin Town in the past. From the hair cuts this picture suggests the 1970s. However, are the stripes indeed black? It remains a mystery. Get in touch if you know more.
When collars were king
Another football team picture and another mystery. By the size of the collars on the shirts this photograph was likely taken in the 1960s or early 70s. Do you recognise anyone?
The Milan of mid Wales
This line-up could be transplanted into the San Siro in the 1970s and I am sure would pass as one of the Milan clubs. Though what colours are those stripes? Get in touch an let us know.
Men of Monty or Pool from the past?
This picture offers few clues as to the team though white and black have been the kits of Welshpool Town for decades? Perhaps Montgomery Town in the 1970s. Get in touch and let us know.
Crossed Arms FC
Another mysterious football team from the past. From the style of the kits and fashion perhaps it was taken in the 1970s. Get in touch and let us know.
