MID Wales will be represented in the latest Welsh squad.

A 31-player squad has been selected for Wales opening World Cup qualifying matches and international friendly at the end of March.

The squad will be back in action for the first time in 2021 following their stellar performance in the UEFA Nations League and subsequent promotion to League A.

Included in the ranks is Aberystwyth raised Rhys Norrington-Davies and Brennan Johnson who qualifies through his Rhayader born mother.

Norrington-Davies is currently on loan at Stoke City from Sheffield United while Johnson is on loan at Lincoln City from Nottingham Forest.

Wales will face familiar foes Belgium away in Leuven for the group’s opening match on Wednesday. March 24 before travelling to Cardiff to face Mexico in a friendly match on Saturday, March 27.

The World Cup Qualifiers then resume on Tuesday, March 30 as Wales welcome the Czech Republic to Cardiff City Stadium.

Wales have not had the smoothest of preparations for the matches with manager Ryan Giggs having his bail from Greater Manchester Police extended until May 1 following his arrest on November 1 last year following allegations of assaulting his girlfriend.

The 47-year-old denies the allegations.

Meanwhile chief executive Jonathan Ford will also depart the FAW this month.
