COLIN Reynolds remains one of the most well known players in JD Cymru Premier history.

A legend at three mid Wales clubs, Reynolds cut his teeth with Newtown in the inaugural season of the League of Wales in 1992.

Reynolds played 314 games for Newtown between 1992 and 2002, playing twice in Europe as well as winning Welsh semi-professional honours in recognition of his attributes.

However in 2002 he stunned mid Wales football with a move to local rivals Caersws and again represented the club in Europe, when the villagers took on Bulgarians FC Marek in the now defunct Intertoto Cup.

Reynolds went on to play 184 top flight games for the Bluebirds, before winding down his Welsh Premier career with a season at Aberystwyth Town in 2009.

Reynolds’ tally of 516 games is a Welsh Premier record and as such the defender earned his place among the Welsh Premier legends in the league’s newly launched ‘Hall of Fame.'

However he was not done yet and went on to represent Llanidloes Town in 2009 and helped the Daffodils to the MMP-NL Mid Wales League One title in 2013.

Best ground you ever played at?

Best ground has to be walking out at Skonto Riga but I always loved playing at Latham Park in Newtown.

Best team-mate?

Can’t pick one, I made a lot of mates playing footy the Shrewsbury lads the Aber lads and all the local lads I played footy with, good times.

Most difficult opponent?

Got to say Ken McKenna, he was always full on and a handful.

Most memorable match?

Has to be walking out as captain at Latham Park against Skonto Riga but I have some brilliant memories of the Newtown-Caersws derbies, especially on Boxing Day with over a 1000 people watching.
