THE departure of Scott Ruscoe as manager of TNS leaves the Oswestry club on the look out for a successor.

Several candidates have been thrown forward on social media and the rumour mill has linked a few potential names to the Park Hall job.

So who is going to succeed Ruscoe at the Oswestry club?

Craig Harrison

HARRISON needs no introduction to Saints' fans.

In December 2011, Harrison was unveiled as director of football and manager of The New Saints.

In his first season, he oversaw TNS being crowned the 2011-12 Welsh Premier League champions, as well as the winning the Welsh Cup.

He won the Welsh Premier League again in the 2013–2014 season, before securing the Welsh Premier League for the third year running.

In May 2017, he was named Welsh Premier League manager of the season, having led the side to their sixth successive Welsh Premier League title, as well as the Welsh League Cup and breaking Ajax's 44-year-old world record for the longest winning streak in top-flight football.

Harrison departed Park Hall for a six month spell at Hartlepool United in the English National League before a short stint at Bangor City was followed by his arrival at Connah's Quay Nomads as first team coach.

Ken McKenna

ANOTHER familiar face and name who needs no introduction.

McKenna steered TNS to three runners-up spots in the Welsh Premier League before winning three successive titles in 2004-05, 2005-06 and 2006-07, as well as adding FAW Premier Cup, Welsh Cup and Welsh League Cup successes.

In March 2008, he left the club by mutual consent.

McKenna returned to his home town of Birkenhead to become manager of Cammell Laird but left the club soon after, later becoming chief scout at Cambridge United before joining Altrincham as assistant manager.

In September 2010, he was appointed caretaker-manager at the club following the sacking of Graham Heathcote.

Following an improvement in the team's results under McKenna, he was later handed the job on a permanent basis.

In 2011, it was announced that McKenna would take a new role as assistant manager, to the new Morecambe manager, Jim Bentley.

In 2019, he followed Bentley to new club AFC Fylde, again taking the role of assistant manager. He left the position in July 2020.

Sam Ricketts

THE former Shrewsbury Town and Wrexham manager is also among the rumoured contenders.

The former Wales international enjoyed a successful start to his managerial career with English National League side Wrexham but left just eight months into a three year contract to take on the Shrewsbury Town job.

During the 2019–20 season, Ricketts lead the club to the fourth round of the FA Cup for the second time during his management spell, defeating Bradford City, Mansfield Town and Bristol City along the way.

The fourth round would see Ricketts and his Shrewsbury side host Premier League leaders and European and World champions Liverpool.

However Ricketts was sacked after a poor start to the 2020-21 season.
