GUILSFIELD Football Club players will be raising money for charity with a JD Cymru North virtual run this month.

The Clos Mytton club aims to raise money for Hope House, Nightingale Hospice and CALM by running the distance to every JD Cymru North club ground and back again.

The endeavour will see players run 1,894 miles.

Manager Nathan Leonard said: "With no start date for the season yet its been a struggle the last few weeks to get players motivated to get out and run.

"There's only so many 5km runs you can do before getting bored so we needed to mix it up and think outside the box.

"We came up with the idea of running the distance to and from each Cymru North club in the month of February.

"Once I had added up the miles it seemed like a tough challenge so we thought why not make it public and raise some money for three amazing charities.

"It will certainly get the lads fitter and hopefully raise plenty of money that is much needed in these testing times.

"A big thank you to everyone so far that has donated it is much appreciated by us all."
