LLANRHAEADR Football Club's new management team has been unveiled.

The club welcomes Nicky Jones and Callum Vaughan to Tanllan to work alongside Mac Griffiths following the departure of Dan Graham at the end of last season's curtailed JD Cymru North campaign.

Griffiths and Jones will jointly manage first team affairs with Vaughan the new first team coach.

Jones arrived at the club from Corwen who he managed in JD Cymru North last season and arrives with a wealth of knowledge while also working on his coaching badges.

Jones said: "I am really excited for the challenge ahead.

"The club performed brilliantly last season and I will be looking to carry on the great work.

"As a club, we are aware of the challenges that lie ahead but I am really looking forward to getting to work with the lads and working with them.”

Vaughan has been a playing member of the club's reserve team in the Montgomeryshire League for several seasons and now takes his first steps into coaching.

He said “This is a great opportunity for me to develop myself as a coach and I too am looking forward to the challenge.

"We’ve got a great group of boys here and I can’t wait to get started.

Vaughan added: "It’s been really difficult with the English national lockdown but are now are looking forward to getting everyone together.”

Griffiths expressed his delight and welcomed Jones to the club and Vaughan's elevation to first team coach.

He said: “We’ve got an exciting young team of progressive coaches and I am excited to finally get going again.

"We realise that we have another tough challenge ahead of us.

"A club like ours is always going to find it difficult in terms of recruiting players.

"We’ve been in a very difficult position until recently being unable to get all the boys together.

"I am looking forward to working with Nick, Callum and the boys once again.”

The villagers opened their pre-season with an 8-2 win at Llanuwchllyn in Bala on Saturday while their reserves were in action at local rivals Llanfyllin Town.

Llanrhaeadr will open their season at home to Llangefni Town in the Nathaniel League Cup.
