Cardiff Metropolitan 0 TNS 1

TNS extended their lead at the top of the JD Cymru Premier with victory at Cardiff Metropolitan.

With Bala Town's clash at Aberystwyth Town postponed the previous evening, the Saints travelled to the capital aiming to maintain their lead at the summit and extend their advantage.

However the Oswestry side survived a scare inside the opening two minutes with Elliot Evans firing onto the post after two minutes.

TNS proceeded to dictate the rest of the half but found the Archers in resolute form ans the Saints struggled to create anything meaningful until the 25th minute when Lois Robles tested goalkeeper Alex Lang.

TNS continued to dominate but the side ended the first-half inseparable.

Like the first-half the home side began on top with Evans firing wide.

However the Saints led on 53 minutes with Leo Smith's inswinging chaos in the box before finding its way past Lang off the unfortunate Liam Black.

Five minutes later Lang produced a stunning save to tip Smith's free-kick onto the bar to ensure the visitors did not extend their lead.

Smith continued to be a thorn in the side of the hosts, firing wide after a good run before firing over after seizing upon a partial clearance from Lang as TNS piled on the pressure.

Blaine Hudson headed wide as TNS sought to put the game to bed.

Met enjoyed their best spell of the game in the final 10 minutes with Simon Spender blocking Oliver Hulbert's shot with seven minutes remaining.

Hudson forced Lang into action at the other end as TNS looked to put the seal on their victory late on but Scott Ruscoe's side had already done enough to leave Cyncoed with maximum spoils.
