TONIGHT will see the first virtual conference over the state of football in mid Wales take place.

Currently only two Central Wales Football Association (CWFA) clubs are competing with Newtown and Aberystwyth Town granted elite status in the JD Cymru Premier.

However even the two giants of mid Wales football have been left kicking their heels during the latest lockdown.

More than 100 clubs remain without football after eight months due to the ongoing pandemic and lockdown restrictions.

Throughout November the CWFA will be holding Zoom consultations with clubs and league representatives.

An association spokesman said: "We would like at least one but no more than two representatives of each club to join the meeting and to be heard on a number of issues of importance to our leagues and clubs at this time.

"As well as club representatives, each consultation meeting will include the officers of CWFA, the league secretary and league representatives on CWFA.

"The agenda will be the same for all the meetings and the Zoom joining details will be sent out to club secretaries and each league secretary in advance of the meeting."

The series begins tonight with a Mid Wales League West conference with the Mid Wales League East meeting taking place on November 10.

On November 17 the Mid Wales League South clubs will have a chance to be heard before the Montgomeryshire League on Thursday, November 19.

The series concludes with Costcutter Ceredigion League meeting on Tuesday, November 24 and Cambrian Tyres Aberystwyth League on Thursday, November 26.

All meetings begin at 7pm.
