KERRY Football Club have strengthened with the signing of James Watkins.

The midfielder arrives at Dolforgan Park from JD Cymru North side Ruthin Town.

Watkins is no stranger to mid Wales football having previously featured for Forden United in the JT Hughes Montgomeryshire League before their promotion to the MMP-NL Mid Wales League last season.

Watkins has also featured for Welshpool Town in the MMP-NL Mid Wales League before relocating to north Wales and signing for Ruthin Town.

His arrival at Dolforgan Park provides a boost for the Lambs who parted company with talented Mumford brothers Luke and Matt last month with the duo making the switch to Ardal North East League rivals Caersws.

Meanwhile the Lambs continue to await the starting date for the new season.

Kerry were accepted into the new Ardal North East League before the cancellation of the MMP-NL Mid Wales League One campaign last year due to the outbreak of the global coronavirus pandemic.
