THE creation of Brecon Town Football Club has been completed.

The club has been formed through the merger of Brecon Northcote Football Club and Brecon Town Juniors Football Club.

The merger was agreed this week and will see the new club usher in a new era.

The new club will run age group sides rom under six level to seniors and has been heralded by officials.

A spokesman said: “This new merger is a chance for Brecon Football Club to pursue a new future for football in the area, to be ambitious and pursue silverware in the near future.

“We aim to offer an inclusive, family friendly club for our community.

“The club now has age groups from under six to senior, giving local children the chance to play a sport they love and opportunity to progress at the same club.

“We’d like to thank the committee of both Brecon Town and Brecon Northcote in bringing these clubs together. We’d also like to thank the players and fans for their commitment and continued support.”

Local firm Tannat Roofing will be sponsoring the new senior kit with the club grateful to Ash Jones.

In the meantime work continues on and off the pitch with the club in the process of installing a new stand at their ground while also encouraging people wishing to get involved with the club to get in touch.

The stand arrives from local rivals Hay St Marys.

Brecon Town Football Club will compete in the Watson Financial Mid Wales League South next season.
