Welshpool IIs 89-8 beat Alberbury IIs 88 all out by two wickets
TOM Bowen proved the difference as Welshpool IIs overcame Alberbury IIs to stay top of the Border League.
Bowen (3-10) led the Pool wicket haul with support from Harry Bowen (2-6) Peiter Van Jaarsveld (2-15) and Neil Pryce (2-32).
Rupert Redway (1-17) completed Alberbury IIs' demise for 88.
Ed Roberts (25) top scored for the visitors with only Andrew Dale (10) managing double figures for Alberbury.
Sam Morris (2-17) and Katie Green (1-26) enjoyed early success in reply before Alex Hughes (3-8) tore through the middle order.
Callum Preston (15) pinned the innings together before Tom Bowen upped the run rate.
Bowen was bowled by Ed Roberts (2-22) for a top scoring 25 to leave Harry Bowen (4no) and John Bills (2no) to form an unbroken ninth wicket stand to guide Pool to 89-8 and victory.
