Montgomery 168-4 lost to Sentinel IIs 170-5 by five wickets

MONTGOMERY'S testing campaign continued with a five wicket home defeat at the hands of Sentinel IIs.

A bright top order display saw captain Andrew Barker (38) and Charlie Clinton (23) lay foundations fir the home side.

However it was Aaron Ruff-Cock who starred with an unbeaten knock of 65 alongside Tim Davies (19no) helping Monty to 168-4 to defend.

Malcolm Serplet (2-35) and Matty Cliffe (1-48) took the wickets for Sentinel.

Charlie Kinsey led the Monty attack in reply and included both openers with Tom Matthews caught by Barker for five before Ralph Bishop was caught by Rob Bennett for 33.

Ed Bennett (1-22) bowled Niall Salisbury for two and Ruff-Cock (1-26) celebrated the removal of Phil Caudle, caught by Kinsey for 17.

However the Sentinel challenge was revived by Marc Lovelock and Serplet who dug in to inspire their side's victory.

Lovelock was eventually caught by Tom Corfield off Kinsey (3-48) for 50 to leave Serplet (51no) to guide his side over the line to 170-5 and a comfortable margin of victory.
