A MID Wales football club has unveiled its stunning new kits ahead of the new season.

Llanidloes Town Football Club have delved back into their long and illustrious history for inspiration and the end results are two retro kits which have already won praise online.

The club, known as the Daffodils, will be wearing a yellow and green striped home shirt next season with the club previously adopting a striped design in the early 1980s.

Meanwhile the club has gone even further back in time for its away kit.

A red and black striped kit has been launched as the club’s new second strip, a tribute to the club’s home kit of the early part of the 20th century.

Club spokesman Rob Hughes said: “We turned to the past for inspiration.

“Before we were gold and green, from around 1900 to the late 1920s, our home colours were usually black and red stripes, white shorts and black socks so that is the inspiration for the new away kit.”

Both kits are sponsored by the Potter Group.

Meanwhile the club is still awaiting a starting date for pre-season as the Welsh Government continues to ease lockdown restrictions.
