Alberbury IIs 195-9 beat Knockin IIs 194 all out by one wicket
ALBERBURY IIs held their nerve to claim a one wicket win at home to Knockin IIs in the Border League.
The visitors started brightly with Paul Holyoake (24) and Jack Thorpe (33) laying solid foundations before departing to Lawrence Fletcher (3-30)
Rob Owen celebrated the removal of Eric Heath, caught by Steve Morris for 20, while Morris snared Gary Darlington LBW for 25.
Lara Jones (3-50) celebrated the key wicket of Grant Tunnadine, caught by Steve Jarrett for a top scoring 52 and joined by Owen (3-39) in polishing off tail end resistance with Matt Tunnadine (12) caught and bowled to complete Knockin's fall for 194.
Alberbury struggled in reply with Andrew Dale (18), Jonathan Green (6), Sahim Zaza (12) Joss Elliott (24) removed before Jones steadied the ship alongside Fletcher.
Jones was eventually caught by Barrie Hawkin off Matt Tunnadine for a top scoring 56 to leave Fletcher to continue to lead the home side's reply.
However Tunnadine (4-26) and Oliver Thorpe (2-16) had Alberbury wobbling before Fletcher (41no) guided the hosts over the line to 195-9 with two overs remaining.
