BERRIEW Football Club have further strengthened ahead of the new season.

The Rhiewsiders have swooped to sign forward Jack Williams and midfielder Calum Greatorex.

Both arrive from Ardal North East League rivals with Williams signing from Montgomery Town and Greatorex making the short trip from Welshpool Town.

Greatorex returns to Talbot Field for a second spell having previously represented the club from 2017 to 2019.

Manager Dave Jones said: "Calum will be a key part of the new reserve side, whilst also looking to push for a place in the first team.

Of 24 year old ex-Caersws player Williams, the Berriew chief added: "'Jack is someone who we have been aware of for a few years now and who I think was one of the best forwards in last season's Mid Wales League.

"He certainly was impressive against us last season and caused our back line numerous problems. His strength, power and goal scoring can only strengthen us for the new season."
