Welshpool 253-9 beat Montgomery IIs 52 all out by 201 runs
WELSHPOOL proved a class apart in a 52 run derby win at home to Montgomery IIs.
Opener Nick Davies was joined by Dan Chodecki for the second wicket as Pool began with intent.
Davies (23) departed to Rob Yewdall but Chodecki was joined by Lance Parkes in upping the run rate for the third wicket.
Chodecki was finally snared LBW by captain David Jones (1-39) for 42 with John Gough soon sent back to the pavilion, trapped by Ryan Blayney (1-63) for six.

Parkes was joined by veteran Russell Cadwallader in ticking over the scoreboard.
Morgan Matthews struck to remove Cadwallader for 35 and completed his 2-51 with the removal of Joe Cadwallader (3).
Meanwhile Yewdall (4-25) celebrated the removal of Parkes for a top scoring 86 to leave Pool to defend a commanding 253-9.
Montgomery were skittled for 52 inside 21 overs in reply.

Sam Cadwallader (1-4) set the tone with Sam Higgs caught by Will Gannon for three.
Joe Cadwallader (2-11) maintained pressure with two wickets claimed for ducks while opener Matthew Jones was caught by Nick Davies off Rob Anderson for 18.
Gannon (3-14) maintained pressure on the middle order and included Blayney (12) in his haul.
It was left to Rob Anderson to finish off Monty resistance and complete his 4-13 as the visitors' challenge ended for just 52 in the 21st over of their reply.
