PLANS to reform Bettws Football Club have gathered momentum.

Last week an idea was put forward by Malcolm Phillips, a former official of the club which folded in 2016, to contest a charity match at the club's former Tregynon Road ground.

Now the club has taken to its social media page to encourage new players to come forward with a view to reforming for next season.

A statement said: "Bettws Football Club are looking for players to enable our club to reform.

"Anyone with interest please get in touch so we know numbers.

"The new roll on roll off substitution system enables game time for all involved on a Saturday.

"Without enough interest we will unfortunately not be able to get a team.

"Let's get our great club back in the league."
