GUILSFIELD have completed a transfer coup with the signing of Iwan Matthews.
The highly rated forward makes the switch from local rivals Llanrhaeadr having been a key player in the Tanat Valley side’s rise to the JD Cymru North in recent seasons.
The 24 year old struck 10 goals in 20 appearances for his home village club last season, helping them to a best ever sixth placed finish in the national second tier.
Matthews has previous experience with Llansantffraid and returns to Guilsfield for a second spell.
Manager Nathan Leonard said: “I am very, very happy with this signing.
“I am looking forward to working with Iwan again. He is a different player to the one we had a few seasons ago.
“Huge credit to Llanrhaeadr for his performances and obviously Iwan for going away and working hard to improve over the last few seasons.”
Meanwhile the club is back in training ahead of the new campaign in JD Cymru North with Leonard back at the helm.
