Welshpool IIs 187-6 beat Alberbury 109 all out

WELSHPOOL IIs savoured an opening day win at Alberbury IIs in the Border League.
Nick Davies (35) and Lance Parkes (28) laid the foundations for Pool before departing to Ieaun Griffiths (3-19).
The middle order looked to continue to work the scoreboard before Chris Proctor was stumped by James Wynne off Katie Green (2-22) for 33.
However Alberbury had no answer to Mat Sherwood (52no) who guided Pool to 187-6 to defend.
Mat McWhinnie (2-10) struck early in reply before Tom Bowen (2-33) celebrated the wicket of opener Andrew Dale, caught behind by Proctor for a top scoring 30.
The home middle order looked to steady the ship only for Joss Elliott (20) to fall before Green was caught by Proctor off Pieter Van Jaarsveld (1-30) for 17.
Neil Pryce (4-17) polished off the tail end to complete Alberbury's dismissal for 109 in the 31st over.
