CORWEN Football Club began life in 1877 and have been a constant in north east football ever since.
A brief merger with Llangollen in 1880 led to the club becoming known as Mountaineers Football Club for a year before reverting back to Corwen in 1882.
The club has spent a majority of its history in the Wrexham League, ending runners-up in 1995 and 1998.
However the Wrexham League title was elusive until 1999 and a one year stint in the Cymru Alliance followed before relegation the following season.
Another relegation followed in 2003 before the club began its revival and were losing finalists in the Welsh Amateur Cup in 2008.
The club returned to the Cymru Alliance last season courtesy of ending runners-up in the Wrexham League in 2019 but once suffered relegation after one season in the second tier.
Corwen has a progressive youth structure and women's side and is known for being a community club.
Director of football Ian Evans said: "We are looking to bounce back to tier two at the first attempt, but we also know it won't be easy at all as there's some big teams going into that new-look tier three.
"Being relegated from the Cymru North was a huge disappointment as we still had some big home games left to play before the season was ended early.
"Getting back up there is going to be a real challenge but we'll embrace it, particularly with the talent we've got coming through at the club at all levels."
