NEWTOWN Football Club will open its doors for the first time in four months on Monday.

The JD Cymru Premier club confirmed the news on social media on Friday following the latest easing of Welsh Government lockdown restrictions.

Club spokesman Barry Gardner said: "It’s pleasing to be able to open the Latham centre after what feels like a long time since a ball was kick at the ground

"The club has been cleaned and painted in the break with measures to control social distances in place. Outside seating will be available with table service.

"We hope to see our supporters return to Latham Park and enjoy a sensible social drink and catch up with their fellow supporters."

The latest easing of restrictions have been welcomed by sports clubs across Wales, many of which have struggled financially since the nationwide lockdown curtailed the football season and devastated revenue streams.

However clubs can now begin planning for the future with outdoor training for 30 people permitted as part of the latest regulations.

Meanwhile the club will open its doors from 5pm-10pm on Monday.
