BERRIEW Football Club will field a reserve side next season.

The Talbot Field club unveiled James Langford and Dan Pritchard as their new reserve management team on Sunday,

Langford is no stranger to the club having previously represented the Rhiewsiders.

Langford said: "I am delighted to be returning to Berriew, the club that gave me my first taste of mens football.

"Coaching the under 10s for the past two years has been thoroughly enjoyable, the club's junior set up is impressive and a real asset to the development of the senior teams.

"On being approached to undertake the role, Dan and I were both immediately keen to get involved with us both knowing first hand the clubs standards and committee.

"We are incredibly grateful for the opportunity and we are looking forward to the challenge ahead."

First team manager David Jones was delighted with the appointments as the club reformed its second string.

Jones said: "Reforming a reserve team had been an ambition of the club for the last few years and we are delighted that James and Dan have agreed to take on the role.

"The reserve team is the final link between the junior set up and the first team.

"With the club now boasting sides for every age group from under seven level all the way up to the under 19s, reserves, and first team we have established a clear pathway for players to progress right through to the senior side.

"Equally, a properly run and functioning reserve team is important to the strength of the first team as it allows those first team players in need of game time opportunity to get that as well as being a platform for the youngsters to play regularly and improve."
