NEWTOWN Football Club have added James Davies to their array of summer signings.

The 26 year old forward arrives at Latham Park from JD Cymru Premier rivals Cefn Druids.

Davies rose to acclaim at Llanfair United with a golden spell from 2012 before stepping up to Druids in 2017.

Davies forms a potentially potent new look attacking line-up at Latham Park with Jamie Breese joining from Caernarfon Town earlier in the summer.

Meifod raised Davies also further boosts the ranks of locally based players at Newtown with the club also bringing young midfielder George Hughes to Latham Park from Airbus UK Broughton along with Breese earlier in the month.

Midfielder Jordan Evans arrived from Airbus UK Broughton and defender James O'Neill has also signed from Northern Premier League side Chasetown.

Meanwhile goalkeeper Dave Jones and reserve stopper Kham Steventon have also committed for the season and join Ryan Edwards, Sean McAllister, Nick Rushton, Kieran Mills-Evans and Craig Williams in committing.

Manager Chris Hughes said: "I’m happy with what we have recruited so far and we are looking forward to the season restarting whenever it’s safe to do so."
